Existing posters or campaigns- PTSD Poster Project

After looking some initial research and creating a moodboard, of some inspiration work I wanted to look at campaigns and see how designer use graphics to communicate these important issues. Whilst having a look around online i found this campaign called ‘Not Just In your Head’ by the National Women’s Council . The idea of this campaign has been created to encourage women to reach for help instead of being made to feel as though they are attention seeking.

With social media being such a big part of our lives young women and girls are feeling so much pressure, regarding body image, bullying and a range of social pressures that are all having a negative impacts on our mental health. Above shows one of the first images i found that led me to the campaign.

I really loved this campaign and how the designers combined the photographic elements with the loose scribble drawn elements. I also feel the colours used are super powerful and have a strong contrasting feel whilst still having a feminine look that will appeal to that female audience. There are also a range of elements that work in this beside the use of colour, for example the hand drawn type really fits the scribble style outside of the photos yet still has a strong contrasting feel that really grabs your attention towards the  campaign. It is also great that they include the charity logo as this allows the viewer to have some context towards the piece and the campaign.

This was another great example from the campaign as whilst the rest are more visual, this piece includes more information and resources and has a main focus on typography to help give the crucial information intended to help spread the information. This is something i want to make sure is included within my poster designs as i want to make sure there is an automatic solution for my target audience to reach out to in a clear and easy way.
