After completing the other design and the initial sketches i wanted to develop these ideas further to help create that series of images and posters as part of the campaign. Below shows my two sketches of my other main ideas.
Above shows one of my two other ideas from my initial sketches for the activism brief. I also then redrew this recently thinking it would definitely be an idea i would like to develop further as I really liked the more symbolic idea. This use of this idea represents that gloom feeling that can be felt looming over you whilst have ptsd, whilst the use of lightning references the idea of anger which is often felt by many post treatment. As for in the cloud i wanted to include symbolic elements that would reference time on treatment, so from things such as pills, sickness bowls and also transfusions bags. All things that could possibly haunt the person when suffered great. I also wanted to have a playa round with the text seeing if it i could have ti following the composition of the cloud making it different from the text inside the cloud on the other piece. On my sketch i have also left room for where i plan to have the teenage cancer trust logo and also a space for text where i link for help would be added.
The other idea was another different composition, of instead the person looking down towards there hands holding a pill pot and a handful of tablets. I liked the idea of having three very compositions as if telling three very different narratives all relating to each other to create a connection. For me personally I found tablets post treatment really hard after constantly having to take medication with it being something i would try to avoid as much as possible and i know many people feel a simple way. Therefore, i wanted it to be a main feature of one of my posters as felt it would be a good relatable element within ptsd. I wanted the hands to have a simplistic style to play on a contemporary theme and look. I also really like this composition and think it feels really effective and almost personal as it puts you in the perspective you’re looking at your own hands.
Moving forward I want to think about the line work and building up to look smarter and more finalised also playing around with the restricted colour palette to create those spots colours as seen in my inspired artist research.
