After looking at my final designs, i knew i wanted to play around and create a mockup that would allow myself to really see how this leaflet could work once properly produced. Now for my mockup I used normal paper, more for myself to see how it work look layered out once officially produced. However, this paper is far to thin for final production as you can seen the behind image coming through and overall does not feel durable.
After doing some research it is most common for leaflets to be printed on silk paper and should be no lighter then 130gsm. Silk paper is a great option as it is smooth and vivid without the over kill of shine from paper such as gloss. Silk is often a good potion as it is lighter then other papers and therefore is easier to fold and therefore in this case would work perfectly. Another option i quite liked was the idea of Matte, i liked the idea of a more texturised feel, that still doesn’t lose the professional factor of the traditional leaflet. When research i found the ideal weight is between 130gsm-170gsm, for my leaflet I would probably aim for something such as 150gsm, a nice middle that would allow the leaflet to feel durable yet still foldable, sticking to its design and purpose.
Above shows some of the information side folded in half with two sections showing. I really like how this looks and really feel it begins to capture the idea I had for the leaflet. It is hard to tell with this image but because the paper is not professionally printed and more jus a rough test, the text doesn’t appear as legible as hoped, however, if professionally printed the colours would be a lot more vivid and provide.a much greater contrast, and therefore will be much easier to read for the patient.
Above Shows the poster side of the leaflets design, I am really happy with how this looks and actually really like the folded lines throughout the image. Again i feel this really work however, just feel the issue is with the colours and needing to be professionally printed.
Above shows the fully folded leaflet, showing how it would look when the patient first sees and goes to pick up. There are a few obvious issue such as the folding not sitting neatly, however, this would been done professionally post printing and therefore, should fall much neater and look more finished and smarter. Something else i noticed is i feel the teenage cancer trust logo should be in the bottom right corner. After looking at it fully complete it feels there is something missing from what should be the front page, and therefore the adding of the logo just adds more of that vital information and showing th patient who is running the campaign.
